In September, I went to Paris for Fashion Week where the 2015 Spring/Summer collections were presented. The first fashion show that I ever walked was for Christian Dior. It was a breakthrough moment for me, because it gave me the opportunity to work with Raf Simons. During this Fashion Week I also walked in the Elie Saab, Tsumori Chisato and Andrew GN shows. It was beyond exciting for me to participate in these fashion shows. I fell in love with the fashion shows and realised how they were a celebration of art and vision of the greatest fashion designers. I was hooked and continued to walk Fashion Week shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris, during which I met the outstanding designer Karl Lagerfeld. I soon started working for the best fashion brands such as Fendi, Chanel, Valentino, Miu Miu, Anthony Vaccarello, Roberto Cavalli, Isabel Marant, Hermes, Nina Ricci, Etro, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph & Russo, Tory Burch, Zuhair Murad, David Koma, Trussardi, Marni, Diesel, Etam, Mugler and many more.
I lived in two worlds at the time because I always had to come back from these incredible experiences to my life at home and school. I felt my life turned upside down. I remember returning home after my first Fashion Week in Paris and it all just seemed like a dream. I was happy that I had the opportunity to meet and work with fashion designers, which until now I could only read about in magazines.
Even though I was so nervous walking these first shows, I must have made a great impression because interest in me continued to grow. Once I was back in Poland, I took part in my first photo shoot for GLAMOUR magazine. Then more brands in Poland and Europe began to learn about me and I was traveling all the time, working direct bookings all over Europe.

I remember once when I was shooting in Paris for Vogue Italia and we were so busy that I didn’t have time to check my phone all day. After we were done, I finally got my phone and discovered that I had hundreds of messages from my agency, telling me that a driver was waiting for over an hour for me. I had to rush quickly to pack my bag and had only 5 minutes to make my flight to Barcelona. I couldn’t miss this flight because it was the last flight to Barcelona and I had an important campaign to shoot the next day for Massimo Dutti. These type of situations have happened so often that these days I don’t get excited and take it in stride. I am now ready to travel anytime and rushing to make a flight it not a big deal, but back then it was SOMETHING! I had many more crazy moments where I learned to act quickly and keep my cool, but I will tell you about them another time.

Model career and education
From the moment I started working as a model, I had to learn how to reconcile my dream job with my school work. I was aware of the importance of an education and the need to have a back up plan to modeling. I knew that modeling is a career that has great uncertainty and limited duration. I was not willing to abandon my education and therefore, together with my agents at IMG, selected only the most important jobs that would have a decisive impact on my career. I must admit that some of the job offers and money that I passed on, was very tempting! My career developed so quickly and took so much of my time, that I had a private teacher for my final school year. It wasn’t easy for me to learn this way but it worked! I took my school books with me when I was traveling for work and when I was home, I studied all night. I was not given special treatment and I was required to pass every test and report just like my classmates. After three years of high school, I prepared for my final exam in order to graduate. I had many jobs offers at that time but I stayed focused on my school work and passed it with excellent marks. I was very proud of myself that I was able to fulfil my dreams and passion in fashion, all while finishing my commitment to school and education. I am very grateful above all to my family and loved ones for their support and my agencies around the world for their understanding.
In my experience, if you have the right motivation, you can accomplish the challenge of furthering your education while working as a fashion model. You just have to want it!
After graduating from high school, I started modeling “full time”.
It’s hard to believe that I’ve been doing it for 7 years!
